"La Marocaine des Jeux et des Sports" becomes official partner of the WFCS

On 15 November 2025, during the General Assembly held in Málaga, Didier Besseyre, President of the World Federation for Company Sport (WFCS), and Younes El Mechrafi, President of the « Association pour la Promotion du Sport en Entreprise au Maroc » and General Director of « La Marocaine des Jeux et des Sports » (MDJS), signed a landmark partnership agreement.

Through this agreement, MDJS becomes the first institutional partner of the WFCS, marking a significant milestone in the development of company sport at international level.

La Marocaine des Jeux et des Sports: a leading institutional actor in Moroccan sport

Established in 1962, the MDJS is Morocco’s state lottery and a central institutional pillar in the financing and long-term development of national sport. Operating under a public-interest mandate, MDJS allocates the entirety of its results to the National Fund for Sport Development (FNDS).

The FNDS supports national sport federations, assists elite athletes representing Morocco, and finances both major and community-based sport infrastructure projects. Beyond funding mechanisms, MDJS contributes to talent development, social inclusion through sport, and the implementation of responsible sport policies in close coordination with national public authorities.

Guided by a vision that positions sport at the heart of human, social and economic development, MDJS recognises physical activity as a driver of well-being, social cohesion and collective performance. Its strategy promotes accessible, ethical and high-impact sport, serving citizens, territories and organisations alike.

Strengthening company sport and workplace well-being

Within this framework, MDJS actively supports the growth of company sport in Morocco, acknowledging its structural role in improving workplace health, organisational climate and productivity.

This commitment is notably reflected in its backing of the Association pour la Promotion du Sport en Entreprise au Maroc (APSEM), chaired by Mr Younes El Mechrafi since its launch on 6 April 2019, on the occasion of the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace established by the United Nations. APSEM works to enhance employee well-being and inclusion, while fostering collective performance within companies and across society through sport.

International cooperation and global visibility for company sport

At international level, this engagement forms part of a broader cooperation and outreach strategy. It was highlighted during the 2025 General Assembly of the World Federation for Company Sport in Málaga, where Younes El Mechrafi, in his capacity as President of APSEM and Vice-President for Africa of the WFCS, presented the Moroccan vision of company sport as a vector of well-being, cohesion and sustainable performance.

Together with Othmane Ibn Ghazala, Executive Director of APSEM, he contributed to strategic discussions on the future of sport in the workplace and its role in supporting healthier and more resilient workforces worldwide.

A strategic partnership for the future of company sport

By becoming institutional partner of the WFCS, MDJS reinforces its ambition to contribute to the emergence of a structured Moroccan model of company sport, open to Africa and the wider international community.

Aligned with international standards and grounded in principles of responsibility, cooperation and long-term impact, this partnership strengthens the global ecosystem of company sport and supports the development of active, healthy and socially connected workplaces across continent.
